Curtis Mitchell is a professional track and field athlete.
My passion comes from a burning desire to be the best in the world. Throughout my career, the goal of self improvement & continuing to improve as an athlete has molded me into a high achiever. I’m highly qualified because of what I represent & embody in real life. Hard work, dedication & extremely disciplined.
Education. Atlantic high school graduate 2007. Southwestern community college 2008-2009 associates degree. Texas A&M university 2010. Turned professional in 2011 forgoing my senior year.
Highlights. 2008-2009 California state junior college champion over 100 meters & 200 meters. Second man in state history to do the double back to back years since Carlos Moore. 2010 I became the NCAA national champion indoors over 200 meters at Texas A&M, breaking a 22 year old record as well. Later on that summer, I became the 25th man in history to run 19 seconds over 200 meters. This was done at the NACAC under 23 championships held in Miramar fl. 2013 USA 200 meter silver medalist. 2013 world championship bronze medalist behind Usain Bolt.
My personal best time is 19.97 seconds and In 2014 I become the American 200 meter national champion.
