What is Electro Flow Yoga, you don’t know? Well, we’re here to help you discover new things, and if you don’t like “traditional” Yoga, or if you have never tried it before, Electro Flow Yoga might be for you!
If you are as curious as we are, here are some questions Simone Walsh answered for us on Electro Flow Yoga:
Yoga is the definition of calm, yet popular electro music is pretty loud, how did you make them compatible?
My yoga classes are a space to unwind as well as let loose. The music selection which gets your heart beating faster, combined with the flow of movements and breath awakens the body and you feel empowered as you move through the different sequences.
What inspired you to add electro music to Yoga?
A yoga mat is a space where you can explore what your body can do, similar to when we dance to music. The rhythms and sounds of the music I choose helps to develop a passion for movement and find a sense of freedom and aliveness within.
Are the movements the same as traditional Yoga?
The postures I teach are the same as traditional yoga postures with an influence of awakening yoga which gives a practical and functional approach to the movements. I am trained in Hatha yoga but have developed my practice in awakening yoga through training with Patrick Beach.
Is it suitable for everyone?
My classes are suitable for all levels. Whether you’ve never tried it or have an advanced practice, I offer many modifications and variations so there is something to suit everyone!
What is your favourite song to listen to while teaching?
That’s such a hard question! Depending on how I’m feeling each time I arrive onto my mat influences the type of music I play. One of my favourite songs to flow to is probably Sunset by The XX as I like moving to it – it’s very expressive.
