So you think you can’t dance and you’ve always wanted to learn, or you love dancing but you don’t like going to the gym? Nicci Gillbraith will explain why Strut is made for you.
What is the difference between Strut Fitness and a normal dance class?
Strut is Music and fitness led, the break downs are part of the choreography, we keep you moving to keep focus on cardiovascular, motor skills and mental stimulation. This helps the mind to go from explicit learning to implicit movement and muscle memory respond quicker, so you can dance like no one is watching and reach the ultimate Freak-out.
What dance styles do you use?
We use variety of dance styles that formed the nightclub scene from the 1920’s till this present day from Europe, USA and the Wider World. (Jazz, Burlesque, House, Raga, Broadway and Disco to name a few)
Do you mix the dance styles during a class?
You will experience 3-4 different dance Styles/Genres in every Strut Class. You have your warm up track, followed by 3 Genres for a 45min class or 4 Genres for a 60min Class, each Genre ranges from 9-12min in length and Finishing with a beautiful cool down track to bring you back to normality.
Is it suitable for anyone/ Do you have levels of difficulty?
Strut is suitable for any one who loves to dance, whether they have dance background or are a complete novice, each Genre has their own level of Simple, Simplex and Complex Choreography, so you can cater towards everyone’s needs. Strut is a progressive dance fitness program and progression is important to keep stimulating the mind and challenging the body. As Strut becomes a regular part of your health and fitness lifestyle you will see your confidence and ability improving.
