Today on the blog yoga guru and owner of Sweaty Soul yoga studio, Molly McKeever shares her top tips for personal wellbeing
Molly says: Here are five habits I never fail to break which I feel help me stay happy and healthy
- Drink plenty of water
Drinking sufficient water boosts your metabolism and helps the body properly break down food. Water is a detoxifier that helps to flush out toxins and get rid of waste primarily through sweat and urine. Headaches and migraines are often caused by dehydration. So, to get some relief, drink plenty of water! - A quote a day
It’s easy to slip into phases of being unmotivated by life or work and sometimes these phase can last longer than just a few days leaving you in a complete slump. I finish each of my yoga classes with a daily quote that lifts me up and leaves both myself and my clients feeling inspired and ready to skip into the day. - Move
Moving for me is my main form of meditation. Taking time to connect with how my body moves and noticing the quality of my breath in doing so, is my way of checking in with how my day has effected me. - Acknowledge
Take time to acknowledge your day. let go of stories you tell yourself which bring you no joy. See the challenges you faced as opportunity to grow and outcomes you may have perceived as failures, as an experience to learn from. Chose thoughts that serve you! - Love
Don’t see love as something that you must use sparingly, as if at any moment it could run out. Sharing love with others and yourself, as though it was limitless, is the best way to experience the world and all it has to offer. Give give give!
